Today I had to drive down Gunpowder neck to Robin’s Point. This is a restricted access area of APG on the Edgewood Area (Harford County). The road-side plow scrapings produced a few highlights that follow:

2 Horned Lark
3 American Tree Sparrow
4 Fox Sparrow
7 Hermit Thrush
1 American Woodcock

The Woodcock was waddling around a muddy tire rut and was content with sitting still as I approached in my vehicle. The bird never flew as I stopped within 2 feet of the bird parallel with my drver’s side window… It did not appear injured; just tired or tame-(?), I suppose. Its bill was muddy indicating that it was at least trying to feed. It also walked without difficulty.

On the Gunpowder ice, I counted 7 Bald Eagle and 4 Tundra Swan

Good Birding!
