Hi All,

I found myself up in Carroll County this afternoon, still needing Lapland Longspur for the county. So I started plying the roads west of Westminster, including Enger Road where Ed Boyd had reported one recently. With much snow melt, most birds were not feeding along the roadsides. However, a field along Six Bridges Road had an area of exposed corn stubble. Here during two passes I found a Lapland Longspur, 3 Savannah Sparrow, and 3 Eastern Meadowlarks. I also a Common Raven on an adjacent road. Up in the same area I had a Red-tailed Hawk that showed traits of being a western form, the view was brief, rusty under the tail and belly up to a dark belly band. I put in an hour and a half along both sides of the Monocacy River, but was unable to relocate it and confirm the sighting.
