Eastern Shore Highlights, Sunday 28 February

 Hi all,

Jim Brighton, John Hubbell, Dan Small and I birded the Eastern Shore on
Sunday February 28.   We started at Fairmount where we were unable to
relocate Jim and Ed's Common Teal, we did however find another different
bird that is most likely a hybrid Green-winged x Common Teal.  From there we
headed on to check out the previously reported Somerset County SNOW BUNTING,
it was very cooperative and easily located among the Killdeer.   Crisfield
had an impressive 3200 REDHEADs, with small flocks joining them throughout
our stop there, the WHITE-WINGED SCOTER also continued in the marina.   We
headed to Caroline to look for Jim and Ed's Greater White-fronted Goose, but
struck out, we did find 2 CACKLING GEESE among the 2300 or so CANADA GEESE.
Hurlock had a nice assortment of waterfowl, mostly in the field downwind of
the dike.
