Hi All,
Nancy and I will be leading an all-day Kent County Bird Club trip to the
wetlands and pinelands south of Cambridge, starting with Blackwater
National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday 7 March. We expect to see lots of
waterfowl and eagles, Brown-headed Nuthatch, harriers and other raptors
(a fair chance for Short-eared Owl), and perhaps some early spring
migrants. A recent report from Blackwater featured American White
Pelicans (although they have not been as reliable as in past winters).
We will meet folks in Kent County at the Dollar General parking lot
across from the intersection of Spring St. and MD-213 in Chestertown at
8:00 AM. We will also be making a stop at the junction of MD-404 and
US-50 ca. 9:10 AM. Anyone who wishes to meet us south of Chestertown
should contact Nancy and I at the phone number or e-mail listed in the
signature below. Bring lunch and snacks and dress appropriately for this
all-day trip. We hope to see some of you on Sunday.
Good Birding,
Walter Ellison & Nancy Martin
