Was able to bird the lake yesterday afternoon and this morning. I found my first EASTERN PHOEBE singing vigorously on my first loop this morning. 5 COMMON MERGANSERS flew in briefly. One HOODED MALE remained from yesterday. BUFFLEHEAD and RING NECKED DUCKS were the only other notable waterfowl. A TOWHEE that has been overwintering was singing....along with the BLUEBIRDS. 2 MYRTLE WARBLERS were flitting around the wildlife end.
I ran into a friend that had seen 40 TUNDRA SWANS on the lake early yesterday and 20 there on SUNDAY A.M.
