Sunday
Much appreciated the mention of times in the woodcock postings. Armed with that information, I got to the American Chestnut Land Trust @7:30 .
As I walked down the trail beside the field, I said to myself, "It's too early. The mockingbird is still singing."
I glanced at my watch. 7:33. A minute later there were two peents, and no more mocker.
Gee, these birds have their timing precise!
I approached the corner by the privy, and a small dark bird flew up and back up the path. A few moments later he treated me to a full flight display, and then another bird followed him, so there were at least two males.
