Paul Baisich and I drove over to the try for the Tufted Duck at the Holiday Inn Express at the Kent Narrows.

We arrived at 11:00 a.m. and Paul had the Tufted Duck in his scope almost immediately.

The Tufted Duck along with 6 or 7 Lesser Scaup were working the opposite shoreline between the barge and the inlet . We had good observation points from the shoreline and the recently completed wooden deck.

We observed the duck continuously until 11:30 a.m. when we departed.

We visited briefly with the Holiday Inn Express General Manager, Eric Hoffman.  He told us that birders were welcome and that birders could use the wooden deck as an observation platform.
