John Hubbell texted me at 10:05 to say that he was watching a/the RED-THROATED LOON (previously reported by Kurt Gaskill?) in the Potomac River.  The bird was south of Dyke Marsh, opposite Fort Washington and I believe closer to the Maryland shore than the Virginia shore.  He spotted it from a roadside pulloff, I think.
