Keith and all,

Must have just missed Keith this AM. Not sure what time we got there, but as
we were leaving, Tom Jones showed up. Nonetheless, we missed Keith but we
got the Duck. Since we previously got the Cambridge Marina TUFTED DUCK a
couple years ago, this was no lifer, but a nice duck even if it didn't count
for anything. In addition to the SCAUP, there were also a pair of SHOVELERS.
From there we went over to the former Horsehead place that is now know
as a Chesapeake Environmental Center. Horsehead was easier to remember.
Highlight was several FOY OSPREY. Everybody has been reporting them lately
but frankly I think they look like any other Osprey. Also had a WILSON'S
SNIPE pop up out of the marsh and fly away. Huge raft of RUDDY DUCKS had a
lot of SCAUP (both), RINGECKS and at least one CANVASBACK. Also found
GREEN-WINGED TEAL, BUFFLEHEADS and several WOOD DUCKS. Enjoyed the TREE
SWALLOWS on the way in. On the Piney Point trail, we heard and saw a singing
PINE WARBLER (our FOY warbler of any kind) and then encountered about a
dozen WILD TURKEYS. Also had some last night in that foreign country to the
north of here called Pennsylsomething.

At Eastern Neck, we heard and then found a singing BROWN THRASHER. Also
heard a PHOEBE. Were delighted at Tubby Cove with an adult and a juvenile
BALD EAGLE. On the way out we found a SNOW GOOSE with a Canada. Musta missed
the last flight north.

Total for the day was 52 species. Not a bad day's birding. Now I get into
yard work. At least the snow melted in time for me to mow the lawn. I was
concerned there for a while.
