Highlights during my morning walk around Schoolhouse Pond included two Blue-winged Teal (male and female) feeding in the emerging vegetation at the rear of the pond. Also present were two Shovelers, 6 Wood Ducks, and six Double-crested Cormorants, four of which flew in while I walked. Other birds of note included a swirling flock of Tree Swallows, several Osprey, an adult Bald Eagle, two Eastern Phoebes, several Eastern Bluebirds and one singing Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
