These reports are provided on behalf of Talbot Bird Club Members:

Jan Reese of St Michaels reported a Parula Warbler singing in his yard on
April 8th.

Bobby Wells saw a Ruby-throated Hummingbird in her yard in Unionville on
April 3rd.

-- and - the Osprey nest and platform in Tunis Mills has now been
taken over by a pair of --- Canada Geese (photo made it into the local
Star-Democrat Newspaper).

-- and - the long-term pair of Osprey that have occupied a nest
above a power pole just north of the Unionville Bridge over the Miles River
caused some electrical problems recently. Back on Thursday, March 26,they
dropped a stick across some exposed wires and set the pole on fire. (The
birds were not injured.) Power was out locally for four hours while repairs
and changes were made. The changes included raising the Osprey platform by
about four feet, using a pole extension above the original pole. Several
days later a whole new pole and platform arrangement was installed, near the
original pole, and the nest moved to the new "elegant" platform. The old
platform with pole extension was taken down. The birds seem to have fully
accepted the new nest site, so -- "so far, so good".
