I took a short trip to Piscataway, southern PG county this morning,
April 9. Highlights were an early SPOTTED SANDPIPER and a pair of
Blue-winged Teal (the most common duck I rarely see at this location)
and a lingering Red-headed Woodpecker. Gnatcatchers and Ruby-crowned
Kinglets were everywhere but the only warbler was a La Waterthrush, not
counting the fly-by that looked a lot like a Palm.
I found just shy of forty species; probably would have done better if my
binoculars didn't spend the morning hanging out on the kitchen table.
