Tim Ray and I stopped by South Tract at lunch today for a brief visit (Friday April 9). The Long-tailed Duck continues at the far side of Cash Lake from the visitor center. While we were there it spent most of its time below the surface, coming up only briefly every few minutes.
We also had a pair of Pied-billed Grebes in Lake Remington, a pair of Wood Ducks, a pair of Ospreys on one of the nesting platforms, several Canada Geese on nests, and lots of Tree Swallows.
