This morning I birded a couple of familiar spots close to home. Highlights
at Southwest Area Park were 1 heard-only RING-NECKED PHEASANT, my first
SPOTTED SANDPIPER of the year, 3 WILSON'S SNIPE, good numbers of SAVANNAH
SPARROWS, one FOX SPARROW getting late, and one EASTERN MEADOWLARK flushed in
the north field.
Later I stopped briefly at the Mears farm area of Patapsco Valley State
Park and found nothing notable except for a pair of AMERICAN KESTREL who
seemed to be very much a pair.
