After the most enjoyable Howard Bird Club trip to the U. of MD
Central Farm this morning, ably led by Bonnie Ott, I decided to stop
at Brighton Dam on the way back to Montgomery County.

I was pleasantly surprised to see some Cliff Swallows flying around
both above and below the dam. I estimated there were 8 birds, but
there could well have been more. Nancy Magnusson had told me earlier
today that the swallows had not yet arrived as of yesterday. It's
impressive how these birds find their way back each year to their
traditional breeding sites.

An immature Bald Eagle flew by on the Montgomery side just as I was
leaving at about 11:45 a.m.
