I spent an hour or two this morning trying to find new arrivals/late winter birds in the Elk Neck State Forest (ENSF) and further down the Elk Neck Peninsula near North East in Cecil County.

Highlights included 7 Pine Warblers, 4 Black and White Warblers, and a Red-breasted Nuthatch at ENSF. I also had a few Tree Swallows and ten or so Whte-throated Sparrows on Elk Neck.

The most interesting gind was the 20 or so Laughing Gulls which flew over the ENSF. They seemed to be traversing the peninsula east to west...

Happy Spring...
