Right Andy.
In all the years I birded in Montgomery County I only saw one, on August 2, 2003 at Seneca along the Potomac River (and then it was on the far shoreline, just barely in the county). Granted I didn't really chase this species so I don't know when others may have occured, but it is a chaseable bird for Montgomery, for sure. Details would be helpful.

Dave,
Snowy Egret is a good bird for Montgomery. I only know of 2 that were reported in county (Violette's Lock) in last five years. However, Bob Ringler did have 4 Snowy Egrets at Hughes Hollow in 1980. Which impoundment was this bird in? Are you confident it was not one of the more regular Great Egrets? A lot of folks might be interested in chasing this bird for there county list.
Thanks for you help.
