Dave Larkin and I visited Swan Harbor in Harford County on Weds. afternoon,
April 28 looking for some of the great birds that were reported here earlier
in April. Despite the wind, we saw 3 American Bitterns and 2 Wilson's Snipe
but no Soras. We also heard 1-2 Am. Bitterns, but I believe these were the
same birds we had earlier seen. The only rail we encountered was an
American Coot in glossy plumage. Other shorebirds were 10-12 Lesser
Yellowlegs, 2 Solitary Sandpipers, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, and approx. 8
distant peeps (probably Least Sandpipers).
