Hi Everyone,

I wanted to pass on that Dave Young had a male GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER on private property at Smokey Glen Farm, Gaithersburg, on 4/27. He was sorting through a flock of migrant Myrtle Warblers when it suddenly appeared. Chasing is not an option at this location, so this is just a heads-up. A day-maker anywhere in the state, this species is, sadly, an increasingly rare find anywhere east of Allegany Co. (OK, nearly everywhere...) This is the first report for Maryland for the year.

I also heard from Brad Lanning that impressive numbers of Solitary Sandpipers, as well as a GREATER YELLOWLEGS, are present on the previously discussed Route 66 pond in Washington Co. I need Greater Yellowlegs for Washington Co.

Good birding,

Bill
