Mostly sunny becoming partly cloudy and ending as mostly cloudy; 65-88
degrees; fair visibility with haze, becoming good; winds mostly
southwesterly, light in the morning, becoming a little stronger in the
afternoon, 0-9 mph
Raptor Observations:
Adult female Mississippi Kite observed at 4:45 pm daylight time. It was in
view for several minutes, hunting over the far edge of the pond. As it left
the area flying in a northwesterly direction, it was eating at a prey item
in its talons. The raptor flight was steady for most of the day.
Non-raptor Observations:
A Least Sandpiper on the beach; new arrival: Great Crested Flycatcher

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
