As it turns out, I DID hear an ALDER FLYCATCHER at Hughes Hollow this morning. As you walk out between the impoundments, the first right leads to the woods edge. There, near the woods edge, I heard it. Someone told me about it and, as I walked toward where it was reported, I heard it call twice but could not locate it.
A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was in the swampy section of woods just beyond. The VIRGINIA RAIL was still calling at 11:30.
Also heard on Hunting Quarter Road was an ACADIAN FLYCATCHER.
At Riley's Lock, there were two PROTHONOTARY WARBLERs at a nest box. :-)
