Hi there! This is my first post on Osprey (though I've been following it for a long while), so please let me know if I'm doing anything incorrectly!

This morning (around 9:30) I decided to take a quick walk around the pond at Brookside Nature Center before work. Here's what I saw--unfortunately didn't record numbers for all of them:
Baltimore Oriole (3)
Northern Parula (1)
Ruby-Throated Hummingbird (1)
Common Grackle (common)
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher (2)
Wood Thrush (1, many more singing)
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Tree Swallow (2)--investigating the newly-installed wood duck nest box that the wood ducks completely ignored
American Crow
Northern Cardinal
Blackburnian Warbler (1)
Chestnut-Sided Warbler (1)
Magnolia Warbler (1)
Red-eyed Vireo
American Robin
Red-Bellied Woodpecker
Gray Catbird
(and the usual assortment of warblers that won't stay put long enough for you to have a good look at them.)

Later on, in the evening as I was leaving work (5:00-ish), I saw what I'm pretty sure was a female Scarlet Tanager hanging out near the front entrance of the nature center--somewhat similar coloring to the female B-more Oriole, but sans wing bars and sporting a thicker bill.

I really just about died and went to heaven when I saw that Blackburnian--a lifer for me, and one I've been dreaming about seeing ever since I first laid eyes on it in a field guide! Will keep an eye out and see if he hangs around for a while.
