Last Friday, I had another chance to drive to Robin’s Point on Gunpowder Neck at the Edgewood Area of APG in Harford County, MD. This is an almost 30 mile round trip through at least five distinct habitats.

Since I left a little early for my meeting, I was able to take my time and stop a few times to look and listen for migrants. I was disappointed that songsters were few and far between which made for only 4 warblers species noted. Highlights included 8 Least Terns, singing Prairie and Hooded Warblers, 6 Eastern Wood Pewee’s, 4 Acadian Flycatchers, 3 Eastern Kingbirds, 11 Great-crested Flycatchers, Wood Thrush, Spotted Sandpiper, many Indigo Buntings, Field Sparrow, 9 Orchard Orioles, 2 Baltimore Orioles, and Black Duck. I also noted three Mute Swan (two of which were behaving like a breeding pair)

Good Birding,
