DC - Stilt Sandpiper, Semi-palmated Sandpipers etc.

Jim - many thanks for your posting about the waders!

I just ran down there.  All the birds were in the Reflecting Pool  
except for one Spotted Sandpiper which was in Constitution Pond.  The  
Stilt Sandpiper was beautiful - a bright adult, nicely barred on its  
belly with it's chestnut cheek patch sticking out well, not as bright  
as it could be, but still obvious.  Also present were Solitary &  
Spotted Sandpipers, and a mixed flock of 12 birds - most Least  
Sandpipers but at least three Semipalmated (they were walking in the  
water and their black legs showing nicely).

And, the icing on the cake was not getting a parking ticket even  
though I parked quite illegally for the quick run to the Reflecting  
Pool!
