Just spend an incredible day at my favorite spring spot-Susquehanna SP, of course! The beautiful male MOURNING WARBLER singing his little heart out was the highlight of my day. Being the skulker that he is, I was only able to get a few quick looks. He was frequenting the overgrown field area near the Deer Creek Picnic Area. For anyone who is familiar with Susquehanna, it's by the YELLOW BREASTED CHAT's favorite spot. He was there too. Had a total of 18 warblers. TENNESSEE WARBLERS seemed to be everywhere. I had one last week by the pines near the picnic area , but today I had at least 3. Others: YELLOW WARBLER, MAGNOLIA, BLACK-THROATED BLUE, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, YELLOW-RUMPED, BLACKPOLL, NORHERN PARULA, AMERICAN REDSTART, PROTHONOTORY, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, KENTUCKY, LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, OVENBIRD, CANADA and CERULEAN. Other notable birds were a singing LEAST FLYCATCHER, ACADFIAN FLYCATCHER, PEWEES. I probably had a SWAINSON"S THRUSH but he took off on me too quickly to be identified.
