This morning Jeff Shenot and I found a PHILADELPHIA VIREO on the Brown Station Landfill property in Prince George's County. This isn't a chasable bird because the property isn't accessible to the general public but I wanted to post anyway because Philadelphia Vireo is a really rare spring migrant on the East Coast.
I first saw it in flight at about eye level but wasn't sure what it was until it landed in a nearby small tree, where we watched it eat a caterpillar. It was a particularly bright individual, but then again, I've never seen one in spring before.

This gave us a five vireo day, the others being: White-eyed, Red-eyed, Warbling, and Yellow-throated.
