For the 5th year in a row, students from Kennard Elementary School in
Centreville won Division A of Saturday's WSB. The Merlins (Chuckie
Lansinger, Eli Anders, Danny Lenchner, Alyssa Walls and Andi Hilton) tallied
119 species. On the big day, they decided to head for Belleplain Forest at
4:30 am and ended the day around 8 pm.

The Lady Peregrines (Kiley and Shannon Pignataro, Tabitha Lansinger,
Michelle Long and Kelley Jewell) from Centreville Middle School won Division
B by finding 140 species. These young birding ladies have been birding
together for 5 years and are graduates of the Kennard birding program. This
is the second year in a row that these excellent youth birders have captured
the Divisions B title.

Congratulations to all for a job well done!
