This morning I found a Mourning Warbler at the Glen Artney area of Patapsco Valley SP in Baltimore County. It sang 4-5 times and called with its loud "spik" note, but I never saw more than movement in the weeds. I plan to go back at lunchtime and see if I can get a look. The location is on the SW side of the intersection of Gun Road and the road to Lost Lake (just south of the railroad tracks), in a patch of rank weeds near an old stone bridge. This was a long awaited county bird.

About ten years ago, when I was just getting back into birding and knew even less than I do now, I heard what I believe was a Mourning Warbler here along the railroad tracks. I always regretted that I couldn't clinch the ID then, so it was very satisfying to finish the job after all these years.
