some of the best summer birding at little bennett is on the path in the fields between the browning run trail and the horse trailer parking area on lewisdale road, although the path in the field between 2 strips of woods near browning run hasn't been mowed lately which makes it very TICK-le-lish but the rest of the path has been mowed recently, so it is best to park in the horse trailer parking area. i am seeing yellow warblers, willow flycatchers, orchard orioles, red-tailed hawks, the eastern king-bird, barn and tree swallows, all 3 mockingbirds, common yellow-throats and others with regularity. i have also seen the yellow-breasted chat on 3 occasions and a red-start once and also baltimore orioles sometimes. remember that path runs east of clarksburg road and as far as i know, it is yet unnamed. also there is not much shade and rubber boots should be wore to keep ticks off as this is a grass path.
