Yesterday I went birding along Public Landing RD in Worcester CO. I stopped my car along the rd parallel to a failed Development just north of the Public Landing Pier.
I had great looks at Eastern Meadowlarks, Grasshopper Sparrows, Blue Grosbeaks and many other grassland birds.
It was about 4 PM when I noticed a sparrow like bird perched on a telephone wire that caught my eye. As I watched the bird call out It hit me ( Male Dickcissel ). A truck drove by and flushed it of the wire. Thankfully it flue past me and landed in a better spot for viewing. I got my scope out and got great views of the Dickcissel's black bib and yellow breast and he called out loudly many times. As I was getting my camera out to take pictures of the bird through my scope 7 cars drove by and the Dickcissel was gone. I stayed for 20 minutes in hope that he would show up but with no luck . In the past week I saw 3 Dickcissels in DE but this is my first in Worcester MD.

Today I celebrated the the USA's win against Algeria in the World Cup, by going back to see the Dickcissel. I arrived around 1:00 PM and found the Dickcissel 20 minutes later singing his hart out. I was able to take a couple of pictures and some video of him. I watched him Disappear and reappeared on and off between 1:20 to 2:40 PM. The Dickcissel is favoring a property on the left side of the rd just at the end of the failed development, that has young trees and wild flowers.
