The Common Moorhen continues at Schoolhouse Pond. It was present for the third day in a row with the Wood Ducks in the vegetation at the back of the pond. Looking from the rear platform across the pond, it has been in the same general area to the right (in the vegetation, but towards the water). This bird has been a lot of fun as I had never seen one here before. I thought that I heard one seven or eight years ago, but never saw the bird. Other birds present included a vocal and visible Great-crested Flycatcher perched on a high, exposed perch, several Green Herons, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and an immature Double-crested Cormorant.
