When Debbie Terry arrived at Paper Mills Flats this morning she found me
counting the shorebirds with 10x binoculars. I thought I doing pretty good;
but she helped me see what I was missing... thank you Debbie... shortly
after scanning the far-side with her scope, she spotted a juvenile Stilt
Sandpiper feeding near several Lesser Yellowlegs. After seeing the bird
through the scope, a second look with the bins was a little more
enlightening. The curve and weight of the bill set it apart from the LEYEs.
We also enjoyed a close-up of a singing Yellow-billed Cuckoo.
