Dave Harvey, Bill Ellis, and I went to Washington County this morning and saw the White Ibis foraging in the pond. Marcia Balestri and Kathy Calvert were still there and had seen it earlier. The ibis was actively foraging in the pond at the time we left it, about 10:30. There were also three Killdeer, a Solitary Sandpiper, and a yellowlegs there.

Hoping for more shorebirds we went to the north end of Liberty Lake at the Route 140 bridge but found none there. One Great Egret was the only notable bird.

Jim Green just called to report finding an immature White Ibis in Washington County. The location is the shorebird spot which was popular this spring. The location is off the east side of Route 66 at the farm lane (10807) just north of Horseshoe Lane and about 2.5 miles north of I-70. There is parking for one or two cars at the beginning of the lane. Park and walk down the lane to the pond where Jim saw the ibis.
