One of the more fun things about birding is the "scope fly-through" -- when you
are scanning or following one bird and an interesting or really great bird just
happens to fly through the scope view. Tonight at 7:54, looking over Jug Bay
from my bucket, I was scanning a flock of swallows to try to pick out something
besides Barn Swallows, when a flash of white flew through my view. I followed
it and quickly found it to be a Snowy Egret accompanied by two Tricolored
Herons! One could reasonably assume the same two I saw yesterday. All three
circled and landed in the spatterdocks (solidly on the AA Co. side this time).
They stayed until I left around 8:10. I wonder if they are roosting there.
