I noticed an ad in an old copy of  Bird Watchers' Digest (I'm a little 
behind in my reading)  for a "spotting scope harness" being sold for some 
folks in Quebec.  The picture looks intriguing and it might suit me better 
than those back-pack-type harnesses, but when I went to the website to check 
it out, I flinched a little at the price.

Has anyone used one of these things?  Any thoughts?   Good chance of 
knee-capping companions if not careful.  Any other thoughts?  Before I plunk 
down $150, I'm curious if anyone else has any experience with these things. 
I don't want to buy another thing that winds up in the bottom of the closet 
that didn't work out.
