I was fortunate enough to join the Talbot bird club yesterday for a tour of
Poplar Island. It was my first time out there so needless to say I was excited.
The best bird of the morning was a Hudsonian Godwit, originally found by Jan
Reese earlier in the morning. We were able to re-find the bird and everyone got
great up close views. The number of shorebirds were amazing, we could of easily
spent the entire morning in the northern most cell where most of the shorebirds
were. Most of the numbers below are estimates as time didn't allow for exact
counting and these were numbers I kept not necessarily representative of what
the group saw.
