I had some very good (for Montgomery County) shorebirding at the big pond at Blue Mash, with 9 species seen. These included 3 peeps: Least, Semipalmated, and a 90% probable Western (rufous cap, more breast spotting than a semi, in deeper water than a semi, and at 60X the bill looked about right. There was also a hendersonii Short-billed Dowitcher, a probable juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper, both yellowlegs, a few Semipalmated Plovers, and several Killdeer.
While scoping these birds, a Baltimore Oriole whistled in a nearby tree, but I could not locate it.
