Hi all,
regarding the observation on 8-14 of the SNOWY EGRET at Hughes Hollow, I observed probably the same bird as Paul Woodward. The Snowy Egret was separate from the Little Blues and feeding in the manner described by Paul. I also noted the bright yellow lores in contrast to the pale grey lores of the little blues. My Great Egret count was 30 which was a conservative estimate. Also observed a juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron as well as a single Blue-winged Teal mixed in with the many Wood Ducks. One lonely Adult Red-headed Woodpecker was foraging in one of the dead snags that he was forced to share with hundreds of starlings.

On my way out I checked the polo fields on Hughes Rd. and found approximately 30 horned larks and 7 killdeer.

Good Birding,
Chris Murray
