After receiving J.B.'s forward of the probable Uppies at Poage Airport
(Carroll County) I drove over this afternoon to give it a try at about
2:30. I was unable to find much of anything there today, including
Upland Sandpipers. I managed to find 2 Mourning Doves on the field and a
few Barn Swallows over it and that was all. Even the Turkey Vultures in
the area were more than a mile away from the actual field. This place
seems like it should be an Uppie trap every year because the conditions
are much like that of Frederick's Airport but Bob Ringler has tried for
many years and has only hit pay dirt here once or twice and I think it
was once. Good luck to anyone else that tries.
