Hi everyone,

I went on last Sunday’s pelagic trip out of Lewes, DE. The weather was perfect, the seas were calm, and the birds were cooperative. I got a bunch of nice photos:

See Life Paulagics ran the trip on the Thelma Dale V. Paul and his fellow guides did a great job showing us the birds and explaining the differences between the Leach’s, Wilson’s, and Band Rumped Storm Petrels so that everyone could be confident that they saw and identified the right birds. I know I saw all three variants, but I am not sure that I have them properly identified in my photos. If anyone finds a Leach’s or Band-Rumped mis identified as a Wilson’s in my photos, please let me know!

Joyce and I took a boat trip to Macchias Seal Island, Maine during our summer vacation last June. We saw many nesting alcids, and we got as close as 5-6 feet from them. Again, I got plenty of photos:

Enjoy!
