  Hello all,

Independently, Dave Czaplak and I searched for the reported BBWD
near Great Falls (Montgomery County) this morning and came up
empty. There's a lot of places they could be "hiding" in that
area, however, so if that is what they were they may still be
there somewhere.

There were a few other birds of note, including three BLACK DUCKS
(Dave tells me they hang out there through the summer), and a
little pocket of migrants that included a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER,
MAGNOLIA WARBLER, BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, AMERICAN REDSTART, and
NORTHERN PARULA, and possibly others I could not get a good look at.

Also, I've seen COMMON NIGHTHAWKS each of the last three evenings
in the Twinbrook area of Rockville. Even saw some that appeared
to be circling in a thermal like a kettle of Broad-winged
Hawks--did not know they did that.

Good birding!
