Hi all --

It was very lively at Brookside Gardens and (especially) Wheaton Regional
Park near Pine Lake -- starting at about 7:15 to about 9:45, with rapidly
diminishing activity after that. Ran into a number of migrant flocks which,
unlike yesterday, were inclined to stick around and let you actually ID
them! Highlights were 12 species of warbler, including an unprecedented
number of Blackburnian Warblers in various places (most rather
dull-young-of-year but a couple of brilliant males) and a very cooperative
(read low and in one place for 30 minutes plus) male WILSON'S WARBLER, as
well as a trifecta of Empids.

Birds of interest:

Green Heron - 1
BROAD-WINGED HAWK - 1 (fos for us)
Belted Kingfisher - 2
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 7
Eastern Wood-pewee - 6
"Traill's" Flycatcher - 2 (1 was probably Alder based on relatively bright
plumage, long wing projection, but silent...)
LEAST FLYCATCHER - 1
Acadian Flycatcher - 1 (calling)
Red-eyed Vireo - 30+
YELLOW-THROATED VIREO - 1 (singing!)
WARBLING VIREO - 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 2
American Robin - 100+
Gray Catbird - 30+
Scarlet Tanager - 4
House Wren - 6
BAY-BREASTED WARBLER - 2
Black-throated Green Warbler - 1
BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER - 8
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 1
Canada Warbler - 4
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 6
Magnolia Warbler - 35 at least!
Northern Parula - 5
Ovenbird - 1
American Redstart - 8
WILSON'S WARBLER - 1
Common Yellowthroat - 2
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 5
Chipping Sparrow - 6
Eastern Towhee - 6

Plus the usual...
