I've had very little time for birding this fall so far but went for a walk along the C&O Canal from Lockhouse 7 this afternoon. I ran into one small flock of migrants which had a very bright Philadelphia Vireo, as well as Red-eyed Vireo and 4 warbler species (N. Parula, Chestnut-sided, Tennessee and Black-throated Green).
Also a "local" Great Egret on the shore of an island in the Potomac.
