The BAIRD'S SANDPIPER found by Bill Hill was still there this
morning together with a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER and good numbers of
Pectoral Sandpipers and Least/Semipalmated. Also found a
BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, and six WILD
TURKEYS. (Most of the birds were on the Montgomery side.) I'd
never been to this exact location before and was quite impressed
with how good the shorebird habitat was, at least with the
relatively low water levels. It will be interesting to see what
else shows up there in the days to come.

Note that this is NOT Triadelphia Reservoir's Green Bridge boat
ramp, but the end of Triadelphia Lake Road. As Joe described in a
previous post, from the parking lot at the end of the road, go
north on the steps next to the reservoir and after about 10
minutes you come to an open area of mud flats along the reservoir
with (hopefully) lots of shorebirds. My full list is below.

I also checked other shorebird spots in eastern Montgomery County
(Blue Mash, Rocky Gorge reservoir (Browns Bridge x Ednor Road),
Triadelphia Reservoir Green Bridge). These were not as
productive, with the first two having primarily Pectorals and
Least, and the last only a Killdeer.

Was in the process of leaving the mudflats around 12:30 when I found it on the Montgomery side. It relocated several times on the Montgomery side before flying over to the Howard side.
