The Baird's and White-rumped Sandpipers continue at the Triadelphia Lake Road site this morning. The White-rumped was present when we arrived (around 8 or 8:30 am) but was soon lost to observers. Eventually Nancy Magnusson located the Baird's Sandpiper and we all had good views of it. Other birds of interest were 7 Wild Turkeys near the mouth of Cattail Creek in Howard County, an American Pipit on the grassy knoll in Montgomery County. Other sandpipers were Least, Pectoral, Spotted, and Solitary; I saw all but Solitary in both counties.
The Fulton pond American Golden-Plover continues this morning as well. Thanks to John Hubbell, we all had good views from the edge of the road on the grounds of the school of it, a Pectoral Sandpiper, and several Killdeer. Please stay off their driveway and only view the pond from the side of Route 216.
