Hi all,
I'm replying to all b/c this info may be helpful to others on the list, not
just Karen. For those who use iphones, you can download this app.
http://www.getbirdseye.com/. The application uses GPS technology to
determine your location and from there can tell you what birds have been
spotted nearby, tell you of local birding locations, and can tell you where
specific birds have been located. It uses data from ebird.com. There is a
basic and a premium app depending what features you want. It seems to be a
good tool for traveling and road trips, especially if you are unfamiliar
with the area.
Cheers!
Jessica

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Road Trip to Denver
Hi all, I'll be driving out to Denver at the end of the week and returning
a
week or so later. Basically taking the I 70 route. Does anyone have
suggestions for interesting places to bird on or off the highway? I do have
time for some deviations. I'd be especially interested in places near Kansas
City since I'll be visiting a friend there who is newly retired and
interested
in taking up bird watching. I have lots of birding friends in the Denver
area
so I'm not as interested in locations there.........basically "on the road"
stuff to break up the trip. Please respond off list so I don't get in any
trouble with Norm. ;-)
