Kingman and Heritage Islands in Washington, DC are currently being retooled to include hiking trails, a butterfly garden, outdoor educational classrooms, artificial nesting platforms, and a new bird observation outlook over Kingman Lake and the surrounding marsh.

I have been trying to gather images of birds for use on educational paneling and as ID’s in the bird observation outlook, but I have come up short on several key species. They have either been very elusive or my photos have been of poor quality.

I am looking for images birders would be willing to donate for educational purposes on the islands only. Any photographs used would be credited to the donor on the panels.

The species I am looking for are: osprey, bald eagle, kingfisher, wood duck, hooded merganser, common merganser, black-crowned night heron, tree swallow, red-winged blackbird, and red-shouldered hawk.

Please contact me offline if you are interested. Thank you.
