Seeing the rain end and a few breaks in the clouds at about noon today, Joanne and I headed out to the HawkWatch site and were greeted by 4 BWs and 1 N. Harrier just rising above the trees and moving south. We've seen this happen several times before, where immediately after a rain has ended the hawks will get up and go. The BWs were in small groups, the largest being 23 birds. As the sky became a nice mix of clouds and sun, Sharpies and Kestrels maintained a fairly steady flight. The last bird, a Sharpie, was counted at 5:40 PM.
