Smoky Rd. in Calvert County was hopping with Red-breasted Nuthatches this morning -- at least 20, conservatively. I also had my FOS Hermit Thrushes (5), 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 4 Brown Creepers, 10 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 1 White-crowned Sparrow, and 2 Blue-headed Vireos (the last being a county closeout). Perhaps the most interesting bird was a Black-throated Green Warbler, my latest by 5 days.
