We bought a couple of nyger feeders from Pet Valu because they looked good
-- and they have proved to be very attractive to both Goldfinches and
Siskins -- they are about 7-8" high, the tube is made of green metal, and
has scores of small round holes (rather than a few ports with perches like
most thistle feeders). The finches cling to the tube and feed - many can fit
on at once. Squirrels can't get to the seed (though they are generally not
interested in nyger) nor can the sparrows. The same company makes a peanut
feeder which is same size but has larger holes. Sorry, I no longer have the
tag and thus do not know the manufacturer.

I think this type is also carried at ANS' shop at Woodend.
